We Started Drift Because Babies Deserve Better — and So Do You

Drift was born in 2026 out of one very tired, very overwhelmed new parent moment. Our founder, Maya, was standing in a big-box baby aisle at midnight, holding a onesie that felt like sandpaper, printed with a cartoon slogan she'd never choose for herself — let alone her newborn. She put it back. She went home empty-handed. And then she started sewing. What began as a personal search for baby clothes that were genuinely soft, quietly beautiful, and built to survive the chaos of early parenthood became something bigger: a small brand with a clear point of view. Babies spend their first years in constant contact with fabric. We think that fabric should feel like something.

We believe that dressing your baby shouldn't be a compromise between style and practicality, between affordability and quality, or between what looks good and what actually holds up after forty washes. At Drift, every piece we design starts with the same two questions: Is this the softest version of this garment we can make? and Would a real parent reach for this on a Tuesday morning? We work with GOTS-certified organic cotton and carefully vetted manufacturers who meet our standards for both material quality and ethical production. No greenwashing, no vague promises — just clothing we'd put on our own kids without a second thought.

We serve parents, grandparents, aunties, and friends who want to give something that actually means something — people who notice the difference between a thoughtfully made garment and a throwaway one, even if the baby wearing it definitely doesn't yet. Our customers tend to be intentional shoppers who are done settling. They want fewer, better things. So do we. That's what Drift is: fewer things, made better, designed to move through the beautiful, messy, fleeting early years right alongside you.
